Teranostikbolaget Curasight befinner sig i klinisk fas och driver utvecklingen av sin pipeline i två parallella spår. Bolaget står inför en händelserik period, där behandlingskandidaten uTREAT® utvärderas i en fas I-studie för aggressiv hjärncancer, samtidigt som diagnostikplattformen uTRACE® studeras i en pågående fas II-studie inom prostatacancer.
För att stödja denna utveckling och öka sin internationella räckvidd har Curasight nu genomfört förändringar i styrelsen.
Stärkt fokus på radiofarmaka
De nya ledamöterna, Dr Marcel Reichen och Dr Colin Hayward, tillför bolaget högst relevant branschexpertis. Reichen är i dag Chief Strategy Officer på Ratio Therapeutics och har en gedigen bakgrund inom bolagsstrategi och affärsutveckling från sin tid på Novartis och Advanced Accelerator Applications. Dr Hayward bidrar med över 26 års global erfarenhet från life science-sektorn, bland annat från en nylig roll som Chief Medical Officer på Telix Pharmaceuticals. Tillsammans tillför de styrelsen betydande klinisk och operativ kompetens inom området för radiofarmaka.
Den stärkta internationella expertisen ligger helt i linje med Curasights övergripande utveckling, där fokus nu ligger på att driva både den terapeutiska och den diagnostiska verksamheten framåt.
Intervju med vd Ulrich Krasilnikoff
Ulrich, the changes to the Board of Directors reflect an ambition to broaden Curasight’s international reach. How do you envision this updated board composition accelerating your strategic goals?
– With growing momentum in radiopharmaceuticals, and following the recent advancement of our uTREAT therapeutic platform into the clinic to investigate treating patients with aggressive brain cancer, we are very pleased to bring in new competences to the Board of Directors. These changes strengthen our access to international expertise and strategic insight as we scale within this rapidly expanding area of precision medicine. Both of the new members have strong backgrounds specifically within radiopharmaceuticals. How will this specialised knowledge help navigate your dual clinical and commercial pathways?
– Their specialised expertise bring much valued insight into both clinical and commercial areas. With the addition of Marcel and Colin we believe we now have a very strong mix of competences representing knowledge and understanding of clinical development, regulatory strategy, market access as well as business development activities.
As you push forward, a major upcoming catalyst is the topline data from the phase I study of uTREAT in glioblastoma. How is the team preparing for this and other upcoming milestones?
– We are currently recruiting patients in our first RLT clinical study in brain cancer with uTREAT. We believe the interim data from this trial is a very important value catalyst and we anticipate interim data from the study to come sometime around the summer this year.
