Det danska bioteknikbolaget NMD Pharma har presenterat positiva topline-resultat från sin fas IIa-studie SYNAPSE-CMT med läkemedelskandidaten ignaseclant. Studien utvärderade kandidaten hos patienter med Charcot-Marie-Tooths sjukdom typ 1 och 2. Resultaten visade kliniskt meningsfulla förbättringar inom muskelstyrka, motorisk prestation och patientrapporterade utfall. Ignaseclant riktar sig mot kloridjonkanalen ClC-1 i skelettmuskulaturen. Datan bekräftar enligt bolaget potentialen för en ny typ av behandling som syftar till att återställa muskelfunktion.
